Paisley's first road trip!

We went home this weekend to Dallas - Paisley's first visit! She did great in the car - slept the whole way without a peep (unlike her LOUD older brother)!! Her great grandparents that had not gotten to meet her got to meet her along with a bunch of other family members! Our main reason for coming in this weekend was that my friend Erin from Nashville was going to be in Dallas for a conference and we were picking her up and bringing her back with us for a couple days. More on that later... Saturday we just stayed around my parents house and some family stopped by to visit and see baby girl.

Robin & the boys with little bit.

Ben loves babies :) This picture made me smile because it made me think of the memory of using Ben as our baby in "7 Brides for 7 Brothers" in high school - he was just about Paisley's age!!

Saturday night we got to go to Dinner Under the Cedars - a Mesquite Historic Society fundraiser that Daniel's mom works on. We went last year too.

Family :)

Sunday morning we went to meet Erin & Zach for breakfast at Cafe Brazil. Erin meets Paisley...

After breakfast Paisley had her first trip to Northpark. It was a quick little trip, but I told her as we were walking in this was one of mommy's favorite places and one day we would come there and buy lots of pretty stuff... and not tell daddy about it! haha! :) She smiled - I have witnesses. Sunday afternoon we hung out with family a little bit before heading back.
Grandpa and his little P.R. (that's his nickname for Paisley Rose)

Ok- this was one of the best moments of the weekend. We were talking about Rachel's pink "snuggie," so Daniel put it on, but it looked more like an Easter pageant costume to us! "Come unto Him, Christ the Lord!"

And a last pic of the munchkins for mimi & poppy before we hit the road

Erin made the trip back with us and hung out Sunday night and last night. Yesterday we conquered IKEA with 2 kids - I think she's sworn off kids completely after that & the explosive spit up she witnessed! haha! :) We had a good time and she even stayed with them yesterday afternoon and let me actually go to the grocery store (which I have not done in 5 weeks because I'm terrified of going with the 2 babies)!!
We had a great visit & a great weekend.

The Pumpkin Patch!

Saturday we had a super fun day!!! We got up and headed out to Marble Falls to visit Sweet Berry Farms which is in the summer a strawberry farm, but in the fall is transformed into a pumpkin patch! On the way we stopped to eat breakfast at the Blue Bonnet Cafe, a famous little Texas hole-in-the-wall kinda cafe. Let's just say although we did not, it is perfectly acceptable to eat their pie any time of day and if that doesn't tell you enough Daniel had Chicken Fried Steak n' Eggs for breakfast!

Then we headed over to the insanely busy pumpkin patch. It was a gorgeous day and a lot of people had the same idea we had! It was a little overwhelming keeping up with Ryder, carrying a baby, taking pictures, pushing a stroller & then throwing some 20 lb. pumpkins into the mix! Ryder was SO excited. As soon as he saw the gobs of pumpkins he took off. This VIDEO is when we first got there and he was checking everything out...

pUmpKinS - Oh mY!

Ryder has a flare for the dramatic... no idea where he would have gotten that!?!

There were ponies (fortunately he's not old enough to asked to ride them - that line was ridiculously long!) and there were goats which he was really into.

This was cute till he started chunking it like a football!

The boys & a truck full o' punkins!

Paisley slept through most of it, but we got a few more pics of her that may be showing up later ;) It was really our first fun day out with both of them and it was a beautiful day!

happy wednesday

There's our little cupcake today. She's been much more alert this week, even smiling a little when she hears a voice. Still eating all night and giving us a run for our money, but that's what they are supposed to do right? Ryder had a little playdate today so Mommy got a much needed nap & some quality baby time. Tonight Daniel & I took our first family trip to costco with the "plus 2." (Mainly because Daniel knew I couldn't handle it on my own yet!) Daniel carried Paisley in the Baby Bjorn and pushed Ryder in the cart while I gathered our mass amounts of milk & eggs & such. At one point I went across the store to grab something I'd forgotten and as I walked back I saw Daniel patting the baby on him and talking to Ryder and I had this sudden moment of, "Oh my goodness - they are mine. How did we get here!?!" I mean that in a good way of course! It was just a feeling of disbelief that I'm married to a wonderful husband and have 2 precious little ones, and at the same time an overwhelming feeling of gratitude. I have to give props to Daniel, we've had some long nights in the past few weeks and he just keeps on giving and keeping me sane and taking care of everything that I just can't handle right now. On our way out of costco tonight he went back and grabbed these hydrangeas that I'd eyed as we walked by earlier...

love you babe, thanks for everything you do.

Michelle visits

The past week was pretty good. Things are getting a little easier and we are adjusting to this "2 under the age of 2" thing ok I guess! Paisley is apparently going through a little growth spurt and has been eating ALL night long. I'm talking every hour. So that has made for some long nights (and days) this week. I'm still not really supposed to be lifting Ryder for a couple more weeks so we're learning to adjust and teaching him to climb- things I may regret later as he's already learned how to climb on top of the dining room table- and has such a proud smile when he does it! We had some help from sweet church friends and MOMS club this week which was SO greatly appreciated!!! And then Thursday night Michelle came to meet Miss Paisley! She helped out a lot, let me get some rest and got me out of the house some too. She got a lot of quality time with Ryder who loves his "Auntie Shell." He cried and threw a fit when she left today!
Michelle & Paisley

It was a rainy, chilly weekend here - kinda yucky. But how can this little sweetie not make you smile!?!

Splish Splash, Paisley gets a bath!

The cord fell off over the weekend, so baby girl got her first proper bath tonight. I have to say it was a lot less traumatic than Ryder's first bath. She was pretty calm and ok with it all for a few minutes. And I think she liked the end result.

Checking herself out...

Ahhh - nice & clean.

Two Weeks/Eighteen Months!

Yesterday Paisley hit the two week mark! She is growing well & doing great. She was already up to 7lbs 13oz at her check up this week and she is sleeping & eating well and changing daily. AND today Ryder is 18 months old - A year & a half! He is full of energy every waking moment right now! He is curious, learning new things daily and oh, so observant. He is so social, loves people and is learning to love his new sister!
So an attempt to get them in a picture together...

Look Mom, No hands!

Uh, oh. What's wrong with her!?!

Little Paisley Rose - 2 weeks old

And Big boy - Ryder Marcus - 18 months!
